The Annual Quayside Boardwalk Festival and Sale is already shaping up to be the best one yet!

Join nearly 10,000 treasure hunters along the boardwalk and see what kinds of great finds this year’s vendors have to offer!

Rain or shine spend August 17th from 10am – 3pm at the Quayside boardwalk where in addition to the treasure sellers and seekers there will be live music, food vendors, produce from the farmers market, raffle prizes for charities, pet centres, community services, and an activity oriented kid zone for the entire family.

Come enjoy the largest Recycle Reuse Repurpose event in New Westminster! Also, you can bring a non-perishable food item to go to the food bank.

Irving House, built in 1865, is open year round, and dresses up for the holidays with traditional decorations, including a tree in the large parlour. In December through January you can enjoy seasonal music, Victorian family teas, and hands-on heritage programmes for the children.

Since its inception over a decade ago, the Royal City Show & Shine has grown to be the signature event for the City of New Westminster. Held in July, the event attracts over 300 car enthusiasts and over 100,000 spectators to the Downtown area making the Royal City Show & Shine one of the largest car shows in B.C. It’s fun for the whole family!

From August 16th-19th The Royal City Pride Society is presenting: New West Pride – Let Your Colours Reign! Our 3rd annual four day event includes a comedy night, Saturday festival with Kate Reid, Sugarbeach and more, followed by a Sunday brunch. Come and celebrate the diversity and spirit of New Westminster’s LGBTQI family. All ages welcome to our daytime events. Some evening events are 19 and over. Contact us for more information.

The Hyack Festival is the City of New Westminster’s premiere annual arts and cultural celebration. Festival Week events encourage affordable, multicultural and inter-generational activities so children, youth, adults and seniors can participate together in the ‘Spirit of Community’. Festival Week highlights include the Ancient and Honorable Hyack Anvil Battery Salute, May Day Celebrations, the DiverseCity Multicultural Festival, the acclaimed Uptown Live street festival and the iconic Hyack International Parade.

Royal City Farmers Market

Shop fresh and local at the Royal City Farmers Market!

Summer markets run from 3pm to 7pm on Thursdays from June to the first week of October at Tipperary Park (4^th Street & Royal Ave).  The summer markets are a great place to pick up some local food, purchase some quality, handmade crafts and enjoy some yummy street eats while supporting your community.

Winter markets run from 11am to 3pm on the first and third Saturday of every month from November to the first weekend in May.  The winter markets are held indoors at River Market (810 Quayside Drive). Come in from the cold this winter to enjoy fresh seasonal produce, locally prepared yummies, and an artisan market featuring handmade jewelry, crafts, gifts etc.

Both summer and winter markets are family friendly events featuring live music and kids activities each week.  Join your neighbors in shopping local and supporting your community.
