The Pipeline Project

January 24 @ 1:00 PM - January 26 @ 9:30 PM

The Pipeline Project is a provocative and personal account of the ongoing cultural battles over pipelines in BC. Three actor writers – two Indigenous and one white – come together to create a play about the political conflicts surrounding Canada’s oil industry, confronting their own prejudices and hypocrisies along the way.

Premiering last year to rave reviews and sold out houses at Richmond’s Gateway Theatre, The Pipeline Project  is not only an investigation into the growing conflicts between BC First Nations and the fossil fuel industry, it is an evocative exploration of Reconciliation, environmentalism and first world privilege.

The second act is a Talk Forward. Each night a different guest speaker will respond to the play and then participate in a facilitated conversation with the audience.  Guest speakers for each performance are:

January 24 1pm Alexis Stoymenoff (Vancouver Observer & West Coast Environmental Law)

January 25 1pm – Jennifer Deol (Social Justice advocate)

January 26 7:30 pm Caleb Behn (Eh-Cho Dene & Dunne-Za/Cree, Keepers of the Water)
