The Community Art Space at Anvil Centre celebrates the rich cultural landscape of New Westminster. Our exhibits focus on the land, people, and development of the place now known as New Westminster. We aspire to be a fun and entertaining place of learning and use the objects in the museum’s collection as an entry-point to inquiry, discussion, and exploration about the City.

The New Westminster New Media Gallery is a public gallery dedicated to showing the best in new media art. This world class gallery opened September, 2014 at the beautiful Anvil Centre.

There are six exhibitions a year, each 8 weeks long. The New Westminster New Media Gallery is proud to show significant international artists, as well as work by emerging artists.  New Westminster sky train station is at their doorstep

Located on the Fraser River at the Quay, you’re welcomed aboard the Samson V Maritime Museum, a steam-powered sternwheeler built in 1937. Its job was to keep the Fraser River safe for navigation and is available to the public to walk aboard and see how the boat’s sailors lived. Admission by donation.  You can even book a group tour!
