Shopping in New Westminster
New Westminster features several distinct shopping districts, each with its own charm. From Waterfront experiences at the Westminster Quay to Vintage Row, you'll be sure to find that special item while in New Westminster. River Market AT THE QUAY (re-opening SUMMER of 2010)
A favourite place for both locals and visitors to shop and browse, the new River Market at the Quay is just a block from the New Westminster SkyTrain Station. Scheduled to re-open Summer of 2010.
Downtown New Westminster — Columbia Street
Downtown New Westminster is in the heart of the Lower Mainland, easily accessible by car or at one of two SkyTrain stations — New Westminster & Columbia. A mix of unique character buildings both old and new, Downtown features tree-lined streets that light up at night, with old fashioned street lamps casting a warm glow. Royal City Centre — Uptown New Westminster
The city's newest shopping area is the bright and modern Royal City Centre, featuring many of your favourite stores, including Zellers and Safeway, a full-service restaurant, plus some one-of-a-kind shops. Whether you're looking for the latest fashions, a good book, that perfect gift, or something to help your cold, you'll find it at Royal City Centre. Be sure to stop in the Garden Food Court and see the birdhouses — they are miniature versions of some of New Westminster's most historic buildings.
Columbia Square Plaza
At the west end of Downtown, this neighbourhood shopping centre fairly hums with activity — a drugstore, supermarket, specialty shops and restaurants will fill your convenience and service needs.
Royal Square Mall
A Safeway store and numerous small shops and services are the features of this Mall. Located at McBride and Eighth Avenue, its large open parking lot and proximity to major thoroughfares make it a great spot for RVers to pick up some picnic fixings or other necessities.
Queensborough Landing
This new addition to shopping malls in the Lower Mainland is host to Wal-Mart, Starbucks and many more are soon to come. This location receives thousands of savvy shoppers from Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Port Moody, Richmond, Vancouver, Victoria and the US.
Westminster Centre
Westminster Centre is a four storey office and retail complex located in the heart of New Westminster's Uptown neighbourhood.The building is home to well known retailers including London Drugs, TD Canada Trust, Vancity, BCAA, Starbucks, and McDonald's.The upper floors contain high quality office environments for small and mid sized companies.
